3D Animation studies the techniques and tools for producing the next generation of 3D Animation & Modeling. 3D Animation builds on the foundations of high-end modeling & animation through the exploration of content creation, manipulation, and special effects. Pixel Blue College's 3D Animation program prepares students for various opportunities in the 3D industry. Students will be able to find work in broadcast, architectural, engineering, 3D Gaming, film, scientific research and many other industries that have a 3D application.
This field is continuing to expand and now includes many other industries and therefore offers great growth opportunities for graduates with 3D Modeling and Animation skills. Using the latest software and hardware tools is just one of the ways Pixel Blue College is changing the face of education. This program offers an unprecedented amount of available lab time enabling students to create better demo reels and perfect their 3D skills.
The tuition for the 3D Animation & Modelling Diploma Program is $17,995 CAD. This covers the costs of 6 months in-class instruction, the use of a personal computer, all the required course materials, including textbooks and full access to our facilities 24 hours a day.
Autodesk Maya, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Illustrator, Pixologic ZBrush.
Through personalized, one-on-one critiques and group sessions, students are able to improve their craft under the guidance of talented instructors and the support of creative classmates.
The fundamentals of creation will be learned through practical applications, each subject building upon the concepts and techniques of previous modules. Using Maya, students will learn to properly construct any object with polygons.
ADVANCED CONTENT CREATION
Using Maya and Adobe Photoshop, students will learn the fundamentals of UV Mapping and adding colour to their creations with textures. Basic colour theory will be introduced, as well as lighting principles and composition. Various methods and effects will be covered to create depth and special effects in renders.
The basic principals of squash and stretch, anticipation, easing in and out and timing will be covered in animation. Students will be completing exercises on pre-existing characters to perform a variety of different actions.
After learning how an animated object moves, students we will learn how to tell an object how to deform in rigging. This module will explore the basic relationships and hierarchies in Maya, how it interprets them, and how to create them.
Maya includes various tools to help facilitate physical simulations of real-world forces. Students will be introduced to the Maya Nucleus system, including particles, cloth and muscle systems.
DIGITAL ANIMATION & COMPOSING
Students will apply the fundamentals of animation to learn the basics of Adobe After Effects, learning how to incorporate additional visual elements and effects to further refine elements created in Maya.
DEMO REEL & SKILLS DEVELOPMENT
Students will explore what makes a good demo reel, and what their primary focus should be when putting one together. Various formats for delivery will be covered. Students will receive advice on job applications and career paths and the best route to take to achieve their goals and ambitions.
The 3D Animaiton & Modeling Diploma Program Curriculum also includes 20 hours of Career Development, with Pixel Blue College’s Employment Specialist.
