If you’ve ever dreamed of walking the red carpet, this is your chance. Dress up, get your photo taken, mingle with filmmakers and industry professionals, enjoy live entertainment and experience the excitement of a night dedicated to Alberta filmmaking.
This year’s Gala brings together short films made across the province, from emerging filmmakers to established voices. Expect stories that will make you laugh, cry and everything in between, all experienced where they belong: on the big screen. Our 2026 programming theme is Short Films: Big Impact, and this year we’re throwing it back to the 80s with our Gala aesthetic.

Landmark Cinemas Edmonton City Centre
Go beyond the traditional short film with Long Shorts, an afternoon showcasing some of the best Canadian and international independent films under 30 minutes.
Long Shorts gives filmmakers more room to explore characters, ideas and emotions while still delivering the creativity and impact of short-form cinema. From gripping dramas and thought-provoking documentaries to unexpected stories from around the world, this is your chance to discover films you might not otherwise get to experience on the big screen.

We acknowledge that the land on which we gather in Treaty Six Territory is the traditional gathering place for many Indigenous people. We honour and respect the history, languages, ceremonies and culture of the First Nations, Métis and Inuit who call this territory home.
